I've professed my love for Olay Complete Sensitive Skin SPF15 (both the cream and the lotion) umpteen times on this blog. It hydrates my combination skin, with the added bonus of SPF. But my inner beauty blogger refuses to let me rest, and so I must keep testing moisturizers. I call it "Wandering Beauty Syndrome". My latest search was prompted by Skincare Armageddon's breakouts and other issues, and I ended up buying pretty much an entire new skincare routine.
One of the things I bought was Clean & Clear Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer, because I've always heard wonderful things about it, but never tried it. There was one thing that almost changed my mind though: It doesn't contain any SPF. I still wanted to give it a fair shot though, so I resolved that I would only use this at night, and continue using the Olay in the morning.
Clean & Clear claims that this moisturizer helps reduce breakouts with 0.5% salicylic acid, while keeping your skin hydrated. I don't know if it had any huge impact on my breakouts, but I do know this: my skin is much softer, with fewer dry patches since I started using it. That itself deserves an A, but there are a few other things that I love, too.
When I apply the moisturizer, there's a slight tingly feeling accompanied by a citrus scent (almost like there were a tiny drop of menthol in the bottle), and it soaks in after just 3 minutes, leaving my skin smooth and glowing. Another thing I've noticed: When I wake up in the morning, my skin isn't as oily as it used to be.
Price: $4.00
Performance Grade: A+
